In the summer of 2019, the idea for our second book arose. Our first book, True Story Telling, is about the importance of credibility in the world of brands, marketing, and communication. To this day, the book is still relevant to what is happening in our world. After the first book, you know what to expect...
Digging, researching, writing, editing, and especially persevering. Two years later, the manuscript has been sent to our publisher, Van Duuren Management. Our second book is about combining storytelling and behavioral psychology. We have named the book 'Supercharge Your Stories', with the subtitle: 'Use behavioral psychology in your stories and make them even more persuasive'. The book will be published in the spring of 2022!
This is what our new book is about
Storytelling is the oldest tool we as humans know to influence behaviour. Whether it's about religions, economic systems, countries, political movements, or brands. Thanks to our imagination, we can present abstract concepts through stories. And then we can start to believe in them. Stories give substance. Stories package messages. Stories connect. Stories make us believe. Stories make us who we are and influence what we do and don't do. It makes sense that storytelling is in the spotlight for many (social) organizations, advertising agencies, and marketing departments.
In recent years, much knowledge has been gained about how human behaviour works. Applying behavioural psychology in communication and marketing is becoming more and more common. We also noticed at Truman that behavioural psychology is taking up a more prominent place in daily practice. In this book, you can read about our quest to make stories even more persuasive by applying knowledge from behavioural psychology.
In a practical way, we help you build your stories to fit how we function as humans. This makes those stories more credible and persuasive. And sometimes it's important to know what you shouldn't do. This way, you can use stories even more effectively to achieve your objectives - from influencing buying behaviour to making positive changes for our society.
